Into the "groove" now...

Harley C.'s picture

I can officially say I'm in the "groove" now making the full transition into becoming a stay at home dad that is PROUD in every way. I have been home now for just over 6 months now with my twin year and a half old girls and it feels as if I'm starting to hit a new and refreshed gear.

Any musician's?

Hi all.

Any musicians on the site (of any level)?

I'm a drummer (30+ years) and really into jazz.

Would love to share thoughts on either of these two topics or anything else musician related.

I myself think the hobby helps me clear my head and gives me my much needed "alone time" once Mom is around.

Occassionally picking up some extra money by playing gigs or teaching is also helpful.

You?

Help/Advice

I am new to this site and a new SAHD. My fiance found this site for me yesterday and I figured I would give it a try. As of last week I quit my job to stay at home with two of our four children due to financial reasons. Of course there both boys mine being 3 and hers being only a couple weeks. I am finding since I have been staying home I get bored and lonely along with getting depressed without any adult conversations, which in turn is causeing some static in my relationship with my fiance.

Mom becomes distant as her career gets bigger

My wife is amazing! Too amazing, sometimes. So amazing that, as she ascends the career ladder, eclipsing my income by some 20 times, that she becomes more and more indifferent to me and our 12 year old son. I know she is great at what she does, but she is obsessed. Lately, she's started drinking-heavily. And the other day, she took some edible marijuana with one of MY clients. She has become a party girl. I suspect cheating, but she says 'no, I'd just leave you if I felt like cheating'. Really?

Guys:

Happy New Year, I hope all is well with everyone.

I have been contacted by a producer for the Dr. Oz show looking for married guys in the NYC and NJ area.  I have forwarded this onto Lace Somerfeld our NYC group leader as well, but wanted to send this to the group as a whole.

Take easy,

Mike Stilwell, President
