This At-Home Dad's Group is for dads with kids of all ages. Whether by choice or not, we've all been given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our children.

This group offers the chance to join a group of men to share in our experiences as parents whether you have an infant or college bound high schoolers. ALL are welcome!

We will share in playgroups, monthly Dad's Night Out meetings, field trips and other family events such as the big summer BBQ!

Hi everyone,
I'm a new user and familiar with Chicago Dads. I write for Chicago Parent and have pitched an article idea about Chicago Dads specifically, but the more research I do on Athomedad.org, the broader the scope of the article is becoming.
I spoke with webmaster Mike (congrats on the new baby!) and would include an interview with him about the technical side of organizing and running these two sites. I want to know from y'all:
1. how you use the sites to help with your parenting/sanity?
2. what has Chicago Dads/Athomedad given you that you hadn't had before?

I am not an AHD, obviously. I am the wife of an AHD. My husband and I are the parents of a beautiful 9 month old boy. He is wonderful!!

Welcome to Northwest (suburban) Illinois Stay-At-Home Dads!

You've just come across an exciting group that's been growing steadily for over 5 years! We provide a litany of activities for you, your kids and the entire family throughout each year. These include, but are not limited to, a weekly playgroup, weekly and monthly DNOs (Dads Nights Out), bi-monthly family gatherings, field trips and much more!

Well, I've been an at-home dad for about three months now (my daughter, Audrey, is six months old). I just found this website while looking for groups in Chicago. I have recently moved here and don't know a soul!

Somebody needs to take me out for a drink! ;-)

Chicago Dads provides networking opportunities through activities such as "Dad's Night Out", playgroup activities for children, various other outings, and general camaraderie. We function as an informal volunteer association of independent groups and individuals. We believe the involvement of a father in the life of his child is beneficial to the child, and ultimately society as a whole. Most of us have made a conscious choice to be the primary care provider for their children. Some work full-time, part-time or work at-home. Some are retired or are at-home dads.
