VICTORY!

So last week I started potty training my daughter. She is like 3 and a half now. When the wife would try our daughter would say the panties were itchy and Mom would cave and put her back in a diaper. But Dad is like hell no, I'm done with poopy butts.

I read a few posts from people here to see what they did. Rewards and such. I bought a bag of gummy krabby patties and anytime she went she got one. And my old boss sweetend the deal with a free slurpee anytime she goes #2.

What was she thinking?

Okay, I want to start this post by stating that the person about whom I am writing was very sweet and I am sure meant absolutely no harm. However...

About two to three times weekly, I take my 14-month-old son for a morning stroll down to Peet's Coffee. I find Peet's to be much better than Starbucks, but I shall leave that topic for another discussion. Anyway, the stroll is about one mile in each direction, and it gives us some time outside before his morning nap. Generally, I take some fruit and a yogurt for him, and I order a muffin and a dry cap. This morning was no different.

Yeah I should probably search the forums or net for this, but it’s funner to do it here.

I need a good blog hit tracker dealy. I know a lot of you have blogs, (cus I read them, to the point of mental blog over-saturation) so what counters do you use?

Southern California Stay-at-home Dads

In my search to find other SAHD's in this region of Southern California (South Bay - Beach Cities), I have had no luck. Therefore, this is an attempt to establish a SAHD group that can meet for afternoon outings at parks, beaches or other locations. Ideas and stories can be shared, children an explore there social skills and new friendship can be established. Once a network is developed, other extensive group organized events can be discussed.

Looking to connect with other SAHD in the Southbay area of Southern California for afternoon meet-ups and play dates.

We love being dads so much that we are ready to adopt again!

mikeSAHD's picture

My partner and I brought our son home in September 2007, when he was just 3 1/2 months old. His adoption was final in April 2008. In May we celebrated his 1st birthday. Shortly thereafter, we submitted the paperwork to start the adoption process again! We plan to use the same agency, Adoption Connection. We also developed our own website (www.mikeandmichael.info) and adoption blog. We'll keep you posted on our progress!

new to the At home family.

Hi,
I'm new to the site. I'm a work from home dad with two sons, Reid age 3 and Ben age 2. I live in Orange County and have a pretty fun weekly schedule for my boys. I'm hoping to get good information from this site.

Dads in Greater Sacramento (D.I.G.S.)

A chance for dads of any stripe (married, single, divorced, stay-at-home, etc.) to get together, swap tall tales, have a chili cookoff at the park...anything, I guess. If another group already exists for the greater Sacramento region (from Auburn on over to West Sacramento), please let me know.
I am a part-time stay-at-home dad (Thursdays and Fridays). It seems to me that getting together 1-2 times per month at a park or playground or library shouldn't be too hard.

Uh...I guess a playgroup for dads and their kids
