One thing that I know for sure is that I don't know anything, that there is always something to learn, and that there is always room for improvement. There IS NO DOUBT that if you stay at home with your kid(s) you love them and you love the whole aspect of it. With that said-it can still be a huge stresser. I have a 3, 5 and 7 year old. I love kids, but I never saw myself as a stay at home dad. Unfotunately an accident in the Army meant a much earlier than expected exit into medical retirement. There are huge benefits to staying at home. But!

Cobb County Dads was organized in January 2006 to bring Dads and their children together in the Cobb County GA area.

We meet on Thursdays at BORDERS in Kennesaw GA (on Barrett Pkwy) at 11:00am for story time, fellowship and refreshments. We also meet at 6:30pm on Monday evenings at the Central Cobb Library in Marietta for Family Flicks Movie Night. Movies always appropriate for all ages.

Future plans also include a playgroups, a monthly Dad's night out, special trips in the Metro Atlanta area, speakers, family get-togethers and more.

I'm moving to Colorado Springs soon and didn't find a SAHDs group down there. Myself and my 3 year old daughter currently belong to the Denver chapter and need a group in the Springs, so why not start one!

We try to get together once a week, if not more often, at a home, park or take a field trip somewhere fun. Very, very laid back.

These groups are great for both the dad and the kiddo. It allows all of us to make new friends, something a SAHD is hard to do when he moves to a new area.

So if you live in the Springs, please help me start this group.

The Dads and Kids Club was formed back in ’95 with only a few Stay at Home Dads. It now has a web base of 80 members but only around 20 are actively involved, due to past members children are older now and they are back to work. This Dads group is very relaxed, non-committal and there is no dues. We associate mainly through email for support, information and conversation but do get together for playgroups, Dads Night Out (DNO’s), and occasionally family get together’s. The playgroups range from meeting up at a park, museum, mall or bowling, or at someone’s house.

Hello to all interested parties! My name is Chris Peer, and I have twin 18 month girls. I live in Redondo Beach, and finally, decided enough was enough; there has to be a better way. I feel this web site may provide an excellent platform for us to connect and help each other out.

Thus far, I have noticed a ton of books, resources, and general societal acceptance for at home moms. Stay at home dads (SAHD's in experience) are really out on their own.

I am a part-time stay-at-home dad (Thursdays and Fridays). It seems to me that getting together 1-2 times per month at a park or playground or library shouldn't be too hard.

Just a friendly place to bounce ideas around, talk about day to day life, gripe and complain with other dads who share the same experiences, talk about sports, or whatever else comes up.

This is a group for any Stay at home dads in the Grand Rapids MI area. The role of being a SAHD is hard by yourself but it can be made easier when you and your kids spent time with others. We will have weekly playgroups that will go to parks, the zoo, Meijer gardens, Childrens Museums, mall play areas and whatever else we can think of plus there will be a Dads Night out at least once a month. I am the only SAHD within our group of friends but we have 3 boys in our weekend group ranging from 1 - 5 months. We have grown to over 60 families in the last 4 years with members in Johnson County, Midtown, and the Northland as well as in Kearney, Grain Valley, Columbia, and Leavenworth.
