Lincoln Square Playgroup and Play Dates (for children born @ summer 2008)

My daugher Azadeh was born in June of 2008.

We seek age-appropriate play dates or play groups.

We live in Lincoln Square (60625) near Winnemac Park (west of Damen, east of Western, north of Lawrence, and south of Foster).

There's a fantastic playground in Winnemac Park that we can meet in when the weather is nice. Otherwise, we're happy to host.

Thanks, Jim

Group primarily for At Home Dads and family in the Chicago NW and West Suburbs (or from other areas if you're up for making the trip, all are welcome). Will also promote fun activities and events open to moms, other dads & single parents.
Chicago Dads

Chicago Dads provides networking opportunities through activities such as "Dad's Night Out", playgroup activities for children, various other outings, and general camaraderie. We function as an informal volunteer association of independent groups and individuals. We believe the involvement of a father in the life of his child is beneficial to the child, and ultimately society as a whole. Most of us have made a conscious choice to be the primary care provider for their children. Some work full-time, part-time or work at-home. Some are retired or are at-home dads.

Cincinnati Trophy Husbands

Hi all. I couldn't find anyone in my area on here, and the groups that I did find appear to be very old. So, I decided to make my own group. I have been a stay at home dad for about a year and a half, raising my twin one year old boys,5 year old daughter, and 8 year old step son. If you are a new SAHD, feel free to ask questions on here, and I will be sure to say "Hell, I don't know". One thing that I know for sure is that I don't know anything, that there is always something to learn, and that there is always room for improvement. ABOVE ALL:::Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it!

There IS NO DOUBT that if you stay at home with your kid(s) you love them and you love the whole aspect of it. With that said-it can still be a huge stresser. I have a 3, 5 and 7 year old. I love kids, but I never saw myself as a stay at home dad. Unfotunately an accident in the Army meant a much earlier than expected exit into medical retirement. There are huge benefits to staying at home. But!

Colorado Springs SAHDs

I'm moving to Colorado Springs soon and didn't find a SAHDs group down there. Myself and my 3 year old daughter currently belong to the Denver chapter and need a group in the Springs, so why not start one!

We try to get together once a week, if not more often, at a home, park or take a field trip somewhere fun. Very, very laid back.

These groups are great for both the dad and the kiddo. It allows all of us to make new friends, something a SAHD is hard to do when he moves to a new area.

So if you live in the Springs, please help me start this group.

Dad's and Kid's Club of Richmond, VA

The Dads and Kids Club was formed back in ’95 with only a few Stay at Home Dads. It now has a web base of 80 members but only around 20 are actively involved, due to past members children are older now and they are back to work. This Dads group is very relaxed, non-committal and there is no dues. We associate mainly through email for support, information and conversation but do get together for playgroups, Dads Night Out (DNO’s), and occasionally family get together’s. The playgroups range from meeting up at a park, museum, mall or bowling, or at someone’s house.

Dad's with twins

Hello to all interested parties! My name is Chris Peer, and I have twin 18 month girls. I live in Redondo Beach, and finally, decided enough was enough; there has to be a better way. I feel this web site may provide an excellent platform for us to connect and help each other out.

Thus far, I have noticed a ton of books, resources, and general societal acceptance for at home moms. Stay at home dads (SAHD's in experience) are really out on their own.

I truly, believe if we are able to come together and pool our resources we can all grow together.

Dads in Greater Sacramento (D.I.G.S.)

I am a part-time stay-at-home dad (Thursdays and Fridays). It seems to me that getting together 1-2 times per month at a park or playground or library shouldn't be too hard.

Dads that know no bounds. Clayton/Raleigh

Hiking, camping, random acts of sidewalk chalking. Anything that we can do to make it a thrill ride and the start of a good story. This is a call out to the stay at home dads, lets do something amazing with our kids, because we are a select few who get to enjoy our times with our kids. I want to plan camping trips, greenway hikes, outtings, fishing trips anything possible to break the cycle. My wife and I are both army veterans with multiple tours under our belts, we have lived all over the place, Germany for 3 years, Korea.

Des Moines At Home Dads Group

This morning we had an organizational meeting with 10 at-home dads here in Des Moines. We're putting up a website to begin getting the word out at http://DesMoinesDads.com. Someone with six years experience as an At-Home Dad stepped up to get things organized. I had hoped when I came back from the National Convention to try to gather a few people together. Life was more challenging than I anticipated. I am pleased that someone else gave the time and energy to pull this together.

Lansing Area Stay At Home Dads

This is a group for any stay at home dads in the Lansing, MI area. Please consider joining to meet other local stay at home dads to arrange playtimes with kids and to interact with other guys in the same situation. The role of being a SAHD can be pretty lonely and isolated, but it can be made easier when you know there are other dads/kids out there looking for something to do as well.

Madison Dads

Madison Dads provides networking opportunities through activities such as "Dad's Night Out", playgroup activities for children, various other outings, and general camaraderie. We function as an informal volunteer association of independent groups and individuals. We believe the involvement of a father in the life of his child is beneficial to the child, and ultimately society as a whole.
