I'm assuming that I shouldn't bother scheduling a playgroup for this Thursday with Turkey Day and all. But am I just making an ass out of you and me? Should I reschedule for another day? Friday maybe? Or should we just hold off until next week? I'm open to whatever seeing as we're already out of town. Just let me know. Hope you all have a good one.

Happy Thanksgiving
I am thinking of taking advantage of the free general admission this Thursday at the Museum of Science and Industry.

There's free parking on Columbia Drive at the east side of the museum - take the Science Drive exit off LSD.
MSI Thanksgiving
That sounds like a great alternative. Ruby and I were down at the Museum of Science and Industry last Friday. She loved the "Christmas Trees from Around the World", or whatever the exhibit is called. She especially liked when it snowed a faux-snow bubble solution from the ceiling. They were working on remodelling the children's play area, but I'm sad to report that it didn't look much improved. Still, we always have a great time there. And for lunch you could hit the Medici just a block or so away on 57th street. Apparently it's Barack's favorite place to eat, a selling point for Robbo, I know.
Thanks for the tip Shawn. My
Thanks for the tip Shawn. My Mom's in town and worships Obama so his favourite eatery is sure to be a hit.
out of town
Sorry, we're out of town. John, you're a trooper... don't you get turkey day off?
The Obama Trail
Piper and I went to the WI museum of science and industry last week. No comparison to Chicago's. A couple of old tractors, a 16' fishing boat with a kick arse 90HP outboard on it, a orange hunting hat and vest on a mannequin and of course the obligatory framed picture of Brett Favre.
I heard they are going to make an Obama trail in Chicago, much like the freedom trail in Boston. Possible sites to be included, Manny's, Medici, East Bank Club, downtown law office, neighborhood 7-11 where he buys smokes, the Barnes and Noble where he volume purchased his first book to get on the best seller list, the south side bar where he and Jesse Jackson drink and plot against "The Man", and the secret bunker in Water Tower Place where he, Oprah, and Tom Cruise control the world (with lots of couches for Tom to jump on). Ha...All in good fun!
By the by, Piper took the putter out of my hands yesterday walked up to the golf ball and actually hit the ball with a normal/adult swing (obviously choking up on the club)! I fell in love with her all over again. Watch out Annika Sorenstam, here comes Piper Burke!
Happy Turkey Day ya'll!
Robbo and the Pip-inator
Thursday
Skip the group plan on Thanksgiving. I think if anything people could meet John down at science and industry.
