My MIL is such a worrier. She freaks out if hold the kids upside down by one leg. She doesn't exercise or eat well, and is generally in bad health. She has bad legs and has trouble getting up and down the steps. She is very emotional when she sees her daughter and often cries when she leaves her.

She is super nice, though. That lady sure does love her kid.

I agree

I agree that Super Grover beats both Elmo & Grover by himself. Plus I love Oscar the Grouch and the Count.

Super Grover

You know, I'm not familiar with Super Grover yet, but I would definitely vote for Grover before Elmo any day.

One day I was in a record store and the folks working the counter were arguing over who would win in a battle between Lez Zeppelin and a female KISS cover band. I don't recall now who they determined would be the ultimate winner, but they agreed it would be sweet.

You got me. I finally got to the post in the Tod Palin thread that you made.

My Mother in Law is 2000 miles away. That is all I need to say.

Grover fans

Looks like we are all Grover fans here. Grover is like a normal kid while Elmo is too childish -- if that makes any sense. I'm also a big fan of Kermit doing the news.

My MIL is kinda flaky and, to add to that, may be starting the early stages of dementia. My wife never got along with her very well, was close to her dad though, yet she still feels that she has to be nice out of family duty. My MIL's not overtly mean, so I just shrug off the few visits I have to go on.

LOL

It's kind of funny how this thread is progressing. I guess no one else was keeping up with the Todd Palin thread!

My MIL is a major worrier, and she spends more time than anyone should thinking about food and what food is going to be served at the next meal. When she visits, I feel like I am always on my toes because she is one of these people that is all prim and proper about EVERYTHING. She is also known for being kind of two-faced -- acts really nice in front of me and then says something completely different to my wife when I am not around. Besides all of that, she is a rather nice woman.

Neither Grover or Elmo have ever been interviewed by a presidential candidate:

I wasn't..

I couldn't really give a crap about Todd Palin, so I didn't bother reading the "mindless drivel" (a term I use with endearment thanks to MileHi, no offense guys. I do like to read your opinions, just don't give a sh*t about the Palin's) spewing about him to catch any of the references about Grover, Elmo or MIL's.

That being said, I still like Super Grover and my MIL rocks!

Grover

But I dunno Elmo grows on you. I like the Grover yells things like "roll film" and things. His "Upstairs Downstairs," still makes me laugh.

I'm blessed that I have a great relationship with my MIL FIL. However my MIL - whao came one day a week for two years to help out - often didn't let my daughter nap or unwind. It's hard to say, "You are sitting plese don't treat my daughter like a vaudville act." My daughter was sometime so wound up after her visits she couldn't sleep and would take loooong naps the day after. I'm thankfull for my MIL but when my Mom comes she will put my daughter down for her nap or wach "Nemo" with her just to haev some time with her grand-daughter.

Be Seeing You.
