hey guys -

im relatively new to the game... been a sahd for a few months now (4 mo old boy). It is definitely a lot more work than any other job I've had, but infinitely more rewarding - as i'm sure you all know. )

anyways - looking forward to getting some tips and sharing what i have learned (and will learn). For now, I am trying to keep up with my job (web development / design contractor - work from home) - but i have a lot more fun hanging out with my dude than pushing pixels so I keep taking fewer and fewer jobs...

I'll be around... take care!

Best of luck Casey, I was

Best of luck Casey, I was able to keep up with my job pretty well until my son became very mobile and active. Then my production tanked. Now it's time for him to drop the morning nap and I'll be completely out of time to get any of my work done. Not complaining, as it's all worth it, but if you need the money from 'pushing pixels', I'd guess you have 3-4 months of productive time left. :)

I started out in a similar

I started out in a similar situation. I was able to get some work done while watching my son until he started crawling. Now that he's 10 months old and walking, I don't even think about working while he's awake. Starting next week I'll have a sitter come in one day per week and I'll try to get everything done on that day. Until now, I've worked in the evenings or on weekends or tried to call a sitter when I needed one (it hasn't worked out). I'm also trying to cut back on work but it's difficult without losing customers altogether - they don't really get why I'm no longer available on short notice.

I agree with you Casey. Being a SAHD is the hardest job I've ever had and the most rewarding. I feel pretty lucky to be able to do it.

I agree

Welcome...

Just a quick note to second what Tim said above. That is exactly how it works...

Welcome aboard! Glad to have another Hell bound SAHD around here. I've been on SAHD duty with my 4MO daughter. Isn't amazing how much you learn in four short months?!?!

I'm still working Saturday and Sunday from home from 8-5 with some more on call time during the weekend nights. I can already see where the afternoon naps are getting shorter and my production is petering out. I just ordered a new crossover, so I'm hoping to keep this up for at least a few more months.
