Hi guys,

I'm Stephen, am 29 years old and I'll be joining the SAHD ranks in February of 09, but I'm nothing if not prepared so I figured I'd go ahead and dive right in.

I am mostly a house husband at the moment that I also do some free lance writing/broadcasting for fantasy sports on the side.

Terrordrome is accurate

Probably more accurate is one from my past, "Embrace the Suck."

Have fun with it and welcome.

terrordome fits right now

Not to scare you off, Stephen, but my six-year-old is a real terror these days, especially with my one-year-old girl. The jealousy he harbored when she was born last year has reared its ugly head again this summer. Now that she's mobile and into his stuff, and she gets more attention from my wife and me, my son just can't handle it. He grabs her, tackles her, smushes her into the floor, etc., even while my wife or I are pulling him off her. We punish him, take things away, and he just laughs at us. We talk to him about how he needs to be a big boy, etc., but it doesn't go through his skull.

We're gonna have to go the sticker chart route, I suppose. I can't keep yelling at him and being physical with him to get him to learn. Frustrating as hell...

Feel your pain

Welcome Stephen to the site. You are in for an interesting time here.

As for Dave...I have 3, 2, and 1 year old boys. My oldest has the hardest time getting away from the 2 yr old. Whenever the 2 yr old gets near him it is like he is carrying the Plague. He screams and yell at him to get away from him, but to no avail. We have timeout as well as swats, but it sometimes doesn't even break through his thick head(of course he is exactly as his mother was when she was his age).

What confuses us is that when he wants to be he can be the sweetest little boy there ever is. Is gives hugs and kisses and loves to be around us. Again, when he wants to. The only thing that is giving our 3 yr old some rest is thefact that the 1 yr old is giving the 2 yr old the same medicine he gave to his older brother.

Hang in there and things will get better when he realizes that she will get interested in her own stuff soon enough and then he will be able to relax a little and realize that she is not going anywhere.
