Where in the World are the Dads?

I noticed lots of people post looking for SAHDs nearby, even though we have the local groups. Thought maybe Google could help.

Here's a Google map for Dad locations. Assuming I worked this right, it's private (not listed on Google's map directory), although anyone who finds this post and URL can access it. So, you might not want to put the flag right on top of your kids' room! ;)

Tried to update the Google map, but...

I tried to post a 'pin' on the map for my location, but I ended-up in a never-ending 'Saving...' loop - any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks, Steve (and others!)...

Hmm.. fixed?

Possibly mea culpa. I just found a setting called "allow anyone to edit this map" and turned it on.

Two other issues:

(1) You have to hit the "Edit" button to start and the "Done" (rather than "Save") button to finish. Not totally clear what the semantics of "Save" vs. "Done" is (naughty Google interface designers!).

(2) Annoyingly, it looks like Google makes you sign in to edit the map. I hate systems that force people to get accounts to do basic actions and don't mean to force anyone to get a Google account that doesn't have one.

<shrug>

Cheers,
Steve

Love it!

Awesome! Love this idea - not only is it really cool - it will help new dads to get a quick understanding of where the other Dads are. Way to go!
