Here it is: My oldest son is in Cub Scouts and we are going on a "Family Campout" with about three guhzillion other scouts and their families in a few weeks. I don't really look at this as being a relaxing time for me, since my wife can't come and help. So I will be looking after my 8 year old and both 5 year olds for three days in a sea of canvas roofs (and it is supposed to rain), oh and did I mention that I am an assistant den leader? Fun, fun, fun. Don't ask me how I got into this mess.
The head honchos are bringing most of the food, entertainment, and (I'm betting on) emergency stuff. So my question to you all is this: When bringing three kids (8, 5, and 5) to a Cluster F--- like this, what would you bring? Remember: camping ground, not middle of the forest.
Yes, I have a tent. And Beer. (But since it's a Scouts event, I bet they'll make me choose one over the other. Dammit.)
I know that some of you camp. Any thoughts about a basic "Dad and Kids Camping Survival Kit?"
