New Jersey Dads

A resource for all New Jersey Dads to ask for advice, tell funny stories about their children, talk about sports, organize play dates, and for general conversation.

Oh A-Rod...

How could you?  To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Would you be shocked if Jeter did steroids? I can honestly say that nothing will shock me in sports.

It makes me more sad than angry.

New Member looking for events

Hi everyone, this is my 1st day as a member.  I was wondering if there were any any upcoming play dates scheduled in the South Jersey area. I've been a SAHD for my 3 toddlers for the last 2 years and looking to find some other dads to meet up with and get the kids out of the house and interracting with other kids. Or even other local dads who can relate to being a SAHD and need a guy evening out sometime.

Thanks!

A Free Family Concert in New Jersey - an open invitation

I am hosting a free family concert in Central New Jersey in support of the Huggies Every Little Bottom Campaign. Essentially, the campaign is aimed at filling a dire need for families across the country who suffer from diaper need - the inability to provide an adequate number of diapers for babies. The concert will be held at the Community Food Bank of NJ and admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to donate an unopened package of diapers of any size.  All diapers that are collected will be donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

Anyone getting rid of baby boy clothes 9 -12 months

Hello,

  • Just searching to see if anyone has any 9-12 month baby clothes they are looking to get rid of. My baby is almost six months but is already growing out of his 6 month clothes. (He is a big boy, 9lb, 12 0z, when he was born.) If anybody has any ideas please email me here or at mabelnasal@aol.com.

Thanks

Scotch Plains / Fanwood Meet-Up?

I've been so absent of late, I had no idea there was an NJ Group on AtHomeDad.org - so summer vacations have wound down for me, anyone up for a meet-up in the Scotch Plain / Fanwood / Westfield / Cranford area - hit a park, grab some food, etc.?

Welcome New Members

While I am also a new member (just started this group today), I just wanted to reach out to all newbies and say hi.  Feel free to post anything you want to discuss, or simply just say "hi".

As I wrote before, I'm a relatively new dad and constantly seeking advice!.  My son is 9-months old and is keeping me on my toes. I've found a lack of "Dad" resources on the internet (as well as in central Jersey) and thought creating my own group would be a great idea (and a great resource).   I hope everyone enjoys this group!

NJ Dads...come on in!

I created the New Jersey Dad board to allow all NJ dads to chat about anything they like.  New Jersey is a unique place, but we all have common interests, especiallly with our kids. Do you have any questions about your children?  Looking for some fun things to do with your kids in NJ? Need any advice?  Post in the NJ dads group and we can all help each other.

New Video of Link

Hi All,

I just finished making the latest video of my son.  If you want, you can check it out at the link below:

I enjoyed making the video.  I hope you enjoy viewing it!

If anyone else has any fun videos they took, feel free to post it.

Weekend

It's supposed to be a warm weekend.  Any fun plans for the weekend?  I'm hoping it's warm enough to head to the park with the little guy.  He loves the swings and I can imagine he'll like the slide now that he's a bit older.

How was everyone's week?

My wife was out of town a lot this week, so I was left completely in charge of my son.  We had some great father-son bonding time.  I find as he's getting older (and sleeping through the night), taking care of him by myself is much easier.  His "chores" are usually split b/w my wife and me.  So, when I go solo, it's just a lot of work to do (cleaning bottles, doing dishes, packing his bag, packing his food, etc... - all while trying to play with him.).
