Chicago Dads

Chicago Dads provides networking opportunities through activities such as "Dad's Night Out", playgroup activities for children, various other outings, and general camaraderie. We function as an informal volunteer association of independent groups and individuals. We believe the involvement of a father in the life of his child is beneficial to the child, and ultimately society as a whole.

Most of us have made a conscious choice to be the primary care provider for their children. Some work full-time, part-time or work at-home. Some are retired or are at-home dads. We invite all involved fathers to network with us. As researcher Dr. Kyle Pruett says, "fathers have always parented differently than mothers...and father care is as essential as mother care for your child." For this belief and many others, you're an involved dad.

ChicagoDads.com is here to help. This is the place to meet other dads from across the greater Chicagoland metropolitan area.

Re: Urban families building city experience for kids / Northside Parents Network

I thought this was a good article, addressing many of the concerns we have about staying in Chicago and the schooling options available. When Maude was born, we made a pact to stay in the City at least until kindergarten. We've waffled a bit on that pact for a couple reasons. One, we saw the scores for our local public school (Not good). Two, the cost of private schooling is ridiculous.

I think the article has given us a new perspective on what can be done at the local school level to improve a school's performance...and it might keep us in Chicago.

The Truth About Barack Obama

The Truth About Barack Obama Slate

Barack Obama wears a FLAG PIN at all times. Even in the shower.

Barack Obama says the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE every time he sees an American flag. He also ends every sentence by saying, "WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL."

A tape exists of Michelle Obama saying the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE at a conference on PATRIOTISM.

Every weekend, Barack and Michelle take their daughters HUNTING.
